Does a class reunion trigger old memories of the past that still scars us for life? When a fellow classmate told me that our old high school was planning and hosting a 30th year class reunion, I was quite surprised. Most would attend their 10th, possibly 20th but 30th?
My initial thought was, I don't know, I really didn't know much people then and I really didn't have a group to hang out with at the time, seemingly a loner. But, after giving it a quick thought, why not? I have the ways and means. I know some couldn't make it due to other obligations or plans did not work out as they had hoped.
This idea of attending a class reunion triggered a little anxiety and uncertainty. Many of us may have locked out some bad times in school most would soon forget. But no venture, no gain, I fly into Las Vegas from San Francisco.
Surprisingly, taking the plunge to reunite with class mates peeked my curiosity.
Out of 350 + graduating students from 1983, just over 10% attended the event. Really, the reunion event turned out to be amazing and very surreal!
Never would I have expected to be enamored with meeting memorable and new class mates in Las Vegas. This small group was a little glimpse of what it was like to be placed in 'flashback' mode on the Campbell high school campus.
The steering committee did an amazing job of coordinating and putting together a well-planned event, from a distance at that! Kudos!

The banquet clearly was the best! We all were engaged and enjoyed each other’s company, spouses included.

Inevitably and slowly we all knew it was going to end, we were hopeful that another gathering might occur, say for all of our 50th Birthday year?

I'm glad I said yes to coming to my reunion, all the stars lined up to make it a memorable week, clearly a Campbell "Sabery" Reunion.
