2015 has come and gone. But there is something to be said about saying goodbye to many things this past year. Goodbye to the old job, goodbye to the weight you lost/or gained, goodbye to old bad habits/ or gained new ones. But one of the things that is certain you can really say goodbye to is your age.
I know some tend to get obsessed with aging, myself included, but come on, someone who turns 50 years old is significant. We are viewed as "middle aged", "wiser", "mature", and "vintage". Think about it, tangible things we use to remember as dating back to the 1980's is roaring back. Think "members only" jackets, flannel shirts, movies, i.e. Star Wars. We see it as positive or negative, but it's always memorable to an individual's own perspective, time, and mortality.
Some of us may reflect at this time to really cherish what we've learned with age that it's a remarkable time! I like to simply say, celebrate, honor, and move on. But how can you, one would say? Well, take one look in the mirror and you'll see, gravity, has visibly taken course, we don't have the tight skin and complexion look we once had. And I think that's okay, our expectations are no longer paramount. We simply must move on and enjoy the next page of our chapter. We will continue to strive and what we endeavor, and be healthy, be kind to people more, and don't sweat the small stuff. We've been there, done that. 2016 bring it!
